Our client, an iconic record label, is seeking a Senior Digital/Audience Development Manager to work on audience development/digital marketing campaigns across a range of established and newly signed artists. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, ambitious individual with in-depth knowledge of digital strategy.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Marketing Directors and Creative Team to formulate effective audience development and digital marketing strategies.
- Managing Audience Development/Digital Marketing Team, focussing on cultivation of junior staff.
- Providing leadership and advise to team and artists on strategies for fan base expansion.
- Formulating strategies to create buzz and expand audience in the early campaign.
- Enabling Artists to establish their positioning through social channels.
- Reporting regular updates on audience growth across all relevant metrics and digital activity on artist campaigns.
- Providing context for the wider label team at every turn and helping team members do the same.
- Analysing results and feedback for future campaigns.
- Monitoring upcoming news/touring two to three months in advance.
- Merging databases and best practices with other labels/management/tour promoters upon signing.
- Analysing and feedback for future campaigns.
- Developing long term plans and strategies for each artist.
- Created acquisition strategy as part of a wider digital plan, securing content for database drivers, prizes/ incentives for competitions.
- Briefing in and implementing music streaming platform “follow” and “pre-add” tools.
- Managing the relationships between DSPs and the label to build bespoke marketing campaigns and partnerships.
- Website management to include: oversee build and upkeep, campaign Splash page builds, key announcements and traced link management.
- Keep abreast of latest innovations and consumer trends in digital media and communicate them to the wider label.
- Capitalising on consumer data and research insights and communicating them to the marketing and promotions teams.
- Ensuring reviews of social channel managements are ongoing to optimise their potential for each label’s artist.
- Mentoring artists and fellow team members on best practices and uses of social.
- Ensure the team are creating assets and tools which are tech firsts and far reaching.
- Ensuring label strategy on partnering with influencers in in place and communicated with the wider team to enhance influencer and social listening tools for maximum audience capture.
- Reviewing social calendar with week-on-week postings across channels and identifying anything inconsistent with brand objectives.
- Acting on insights from reporting, ensuring best practice is followed and these are communicated to wider team.
- Securing high value profile for label artists through proactive relationships management with key social and streaming partners, working with Streaming & Commerce teams where necessary.
- Integrating new digital partnerships into marketing and promotional strategy.
- Commission bespoke content and tools for third party placement.
- Understand and monitor company content guidelines.
- Negotiating added media value around exclusive content.
- Delivering cross media opportunities with the label promotions team.
- Implementing digital deal opportunities and a digital approach through collaboration and dialogue with Director of Streaming & Commerce.
- Collaborating with marketing and creative teams, and media planning teams to ensure consistency and amplification throughout all artist campaigns.
Requirements/Experience:
- Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally within a label or agency, with proven experience managing your own team and a track record of developing junior staff.
- Proven experience working with artist managers and artists on campaigns.
- High level of experience working in Audience Development, social media, digital marketing to a technical degree.
- Genuine interest in music, data and the digital landscape.
- Experience delivering multiple fan and partnership activations.
- Experience managing, building and nurturing eCRM email databases.
- Good knowledge of Google Analytics, data segmentation and able to provide data sets back to the label.
- Understanding of the value of rights ownership and content in the web space.
- Strong existing relationships with key platforms; Facebook, Twitter, Google, Snapchat etc.
- Experience in cross-browser and device web design as well as website and asset hosting.
- Good understanding of SEO best practice.
- Basic HTML coding skills essential.
- Good knowledge of Photoshop, Dreamweaver or similar graphics software.
- Experience with WordPress CMS.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-motivated and highly organised, able to deal with work -load priorities.
- Able to deal with people at all levels of the business with a diplomatic approach.
