Our client, a global music company, is seeking a Royalty Supervisor for a five-month temporary contract within their royalties division. The role will be line managing two staff members and involve supporting the Royalty Manager where needed.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Preparing quarterly and six-monthly royalty statements and ensuring they adhere to contractual guidelines.
• Conducting regular review and management of suspense accounts.
• Interpreting and implementing artist recording agreements to the royalty system.
• Researching new releases to ensure all participants are captured.
• Managing new release set up to ensure beneficiary management with full label copy.
• Ensuring new products are set up correctly on the royalty system with correct participants.
• Liaising with internal teams to obtain information needed.
• Liaising with financial planners to ensure accurate recoupable cost information is obtained.
• Ensuring the correction allocation of recoupable costs across label artists.
• Supervising two colleagues who support the preparation of royalty statements, beneficiary management, processing payments, and new digital product set up.
• Deputising for the Royalty Manager where required.
• Supporting the Royalty Manager on an ad hoc basis.
• Contributing to the Royalty Accounting Guidelines.
• Serving as an initial point of contact for Artist Managers.
Requirements:
• Substantial and meaningful experience with artist accounting within a royalties department.
• Previous experience with training, supporting, and developing direct line reports.
• Good communication skills, and able to confidently interact with artists/artist management, senior management, and auditors.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to manage complex caseloads, with various reporting requirements and priorities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational skills, able to be accountable for own workload and meet deadlines consistently.
• Capable of keeping in mind the wider scope of work while keeping attention to detail.
