Our client, an iconic British record label, is seeking a Credit Controller to take responsibility for the timely processing of payments received for a temporary contract.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Managing the credit control and sales ledger process for the Label.
• Handling customer queries.
• Following up with issues and chasing payments, aged debt, and pursuing escalation where needed.
• Dealing with incorrect payments.
• Monitoring aged debt, maintaining accurate records of such, and reporting back to higher management.
• Reconciling and posting multi-currency payments to customer accounts and allocating to invoices.
• Collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth cash collection.
• Maintaining daily cash books and checking bank statements against them.
• Raising invoices, ensuring VAT is accurate and issuing credit memos.
• Liaising with the Senior Digital Sales Analyst with regards to advances and royalties.
• Handling all relevant tax withholding documentation and reporting.
• Posting multi-currency journals for bank charges.
• Reconciling sales ledger and weekly reconciliation of payments against bank statements.
• Producing balance sheet reconciliations for Accounts Receivable nominal accounts.
• Providing information to support year end audit.
• Creating new customers in NetSuite software, and correctly setting up VAT for them.
• Completing vendor forms for customers and maintaining customer records accurately in NetSuite.
• Providing ad hoc support to senior Finance colleagues.
Requirements:
• Substantial experience working in Credit Control, ideally within Media/Music.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite desirable.
• Familiarity with withholding tax (forms and journal posting) desirable.
• Work experience handling international customers and multi currencies.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines using good organisational skills.
• Basic understanding of double entry book-keeping.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
