Our client, a leading music company, is looking for a Copyright Manager to join their team.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Updating newly delivered or amended works, deal terms and publishing agreements in the company’s database, ensuring all relevant contractual information is included and correct
  • Maintaining copyright policies and procedural documentation
  • Registering new domestic agreements
  • Responding to copyright queries, analysing music publishing agreements and historical source documents in the process
  • Delegating copyright tasks to the administration assistants
  • Assisting with commission support services as required
  • Liaising with writers and contract partners on copyright matters
  • Attending meetings with senior management and other internal departments as well as externally as a representative of the company

The successful candidate must have:

  • Previous copyright experience at a music publishing company with advanced knowledge of samples, translations, adaptations, arrangements, counter claims and disputes
  • Experience analysing contracts and music publishing agreements
  • Working knowledge of PRS For Music with experience registering agreements and amendments and resolving any queries that may arise
  • A good understanding of music publishing royalty calculations
  • Strong communication and delegation skills (experience managing staff desirable)
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills – advanced MS Office and experience using AS400 or similar bespoke Copyright & Royalties system a must
  • A degree level of education is preferred but not essential
